Argyle is a fast-growing, remote-first Series C startup solving a systemic data problem.

Underneath the consumer finance industry’s decisions and processes is static, analog documentation—things like credit reports and paystubs—designed decades ago for a world that no longer exists. Meanwhile, credit bureaus buy, move, store, and sell consumers’ data without their knowledge or consent.

The result? A labyrinth of manual workflows and shortsighted underwriting models that obstruct financial access, compound operational costs, and impede innovation.

The solution is Argyle. We’re a real-time income data platform that lets our end-users instantly connect their employment records to apps and websites, so they can access and qualify for the financial resources they need to get ahead. Providers benefit from streamlined workflows and enhanced visibility that reduce costs and risk across the user journey.

Our mission is to give consumers the means to exercise ownership over their income, employment, and identity data in order to create a more equal, efficient, and effective financial system for everybody.

If you’re looking to join a fun and ambitious group of people working remotely across dozens of countries, apply today.

About the team

Interfaces team is probably the most versatile part of Argyle - we try to (and do!) cater to everyone:

  • from random Googlers who are trying to figure out what Argyle is on our Marketing Websites
  • to our less technical customers who, instead of coding their Link integration, choose to use our fancy Console
  • to all Argylers who use Admin to oversee what's happening under that Argyle bonnet
  • to our think tanks who throw our Team-X solutions to the wall and see what sticks
  • last but not least - there's some wizardry involved in bringing to life the beautiful creations of our Design guild

What will you do

  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the frontend development team, driving best practices, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural principles.
  2. Team Management: Manage a team of frontend developers, including performance management, mentorship, and career development.
  3. Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Lead the planning and execution of frontend development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  4. Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with coding standards. Implement processes and tools for continuous integration and automated testing to minimize bugs and ensure a seamless user experience.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication within the frontend development team and across other engineering teams. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve dependencies and drive project success.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in frontend development, with expertise in React and TypeScript.
  3. Strong leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing and leading high-performing engineering teams.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  5. Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
  6. Experience with Node.js or backend development is a plus.
  7. Demonstrated ability to drive technical innovation and process improvement initiatives.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.

We’re putting control over employment data back into the hands of workers.

At Argyle, we recognize that employment data is owned by the individual it represents. By building the first gateway to employment data, we’re unlocking a dataset that has been monopolized by a single, giant corporation (name omitted, because decorum) for 70 years. In turn, we’re making it easier, faster, better, smarter for innovative companies to put employment data to work for their users, enabling access to products and services that improve lives.

We’re all over the map

*in a good way

With a CEO in New York, a CTO in Vilnius, a COO in San Francisco, and team members in four continents and counting, we aren’t lying when we say that we’re a global company.

And that is part of our strength—drawing on the best talent from around the world, without constraining ourselves to geographies. In other words, we care about the merit of your work, not where you work from.

Speaking of work...

Distributed teams

At Argyle, you’re in control of your own work. You choose when, where, and how you get it done. It’s a kind of freedom that’s only feasible when each team member gives it their best, making internal drive and self-motivation key Argyler traits.

Collaborative yet individual

We care about what you create — not how long it takes — and how you work with others. We encourage our team members to have extracurricular projects and to take time away from their desk to pursue their passions. It’s this work-life balance that makes Argyle a different type of company.

Make new mistakes

No one builds anything perfectly the first time around. The best we can do is be direct and transparent with each other about mistakes, fix them, and learn from them.

Trust by default

We devote the majority of our work lives to each other and this endeavor. Even when there is a problem, we make each other laugh and find enrichment in our work. We’re also all hands on deck when it comes to contributing to the culture of our workplace. If a team member wants to start a new initiative at Argyle — they do it (without waiting to be asked).
