About the team

Elastic’s Platform Engineering Productivity team is responsible for ensuring that all Elastic products can be released to customers with high quality, and ensuring the process to do so is smooth and efficient for our engineers. We provide the frameworks, guidance, and leadership that empower Elastic product teams to develop, build, test, and release their software at scale.

What you will be doing

In order to grow and operate at scale, teams need control over the end-to-end software development cycle for their services. The Engineering Productivity organization acts as an enabling function, providing a framework, reusable components, and guidelines that teams can adopt and operate. As a member of Engineering Productivity, you may work on a broad range of projects that impact the entire software development lifecycle; anything from ensuring CI infrastructure is up and running, owning the processes to build releasable artifacts, creating ephemeral developer environments, gating releases on a range of key quality criteria, or building the tooling and infrastructure to deploy and release the products to customers.

What you bring along

  • A knack for problem-solving, picking things up quickly, handling ambiguity & tackling big problems
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle: building, packaging, testing, and releasing, and experience executing on a product release/quality strategy
  • Strong experience in a language of choice, such as: Python/Go/Bash/Java/Scala
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Cloud experience, for example: Terraform, cloud CSPs, k8s, config management tools, Docker
  • A passion for working across the org and interacting with internal customers
  • You care deeply about the design and quality of the features you ship
  • You love working with a diverse, worldwide team in a distributed work environment
  • Humble and ambitious attitude
