You: A Dynamic and detail-oriented Cloud Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing scalable and reliable cloud infrastructures.

Salary: £88,000 - £95,000 + equity

The Role

Prolific is a leading platform that connects researchers with participants for high-quality data collection. Our Cloud Platform team is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to help manage and optimize our multi-cloud infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

• Overseeing and maintaining our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
• Managing and optimizing our Kubernetes deployments in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Ensure compliance with SOC2 and ISO-27001 standards in our GCP environments.
• Troubleshoot and enhance GCP setup for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and implement automation strategies for increased efficiency.
• Act as the technical point-of-contact for GCP and Kubernetes-related queries.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture.
• Strong expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine and Kubernetes.
• Extensive experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
• Demonstrated experience in container orchestration using GKE and Kubernetes at scale.
• Knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining SOC2 and ISO-27001 compliance in GCP environments.
• Knowledge and experience in implementing GCP disaster recovery best practices.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Python and/or Typescript

Nice To Have

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Associate Cloud Engineer certification is a plus.
• Experience with AWS, CloudFormation, and CDK is a bonus but not essential
• Experience with Github Actions and/or CircleCi is a bonus

Our Interview Process

Talent Call - You'll meet with one of our Talent team members and have an exploratory call about the role requirements, life at Prolific, as well as your background and aspirations.

Hiring Manager Interview - You'll interview with two members of the team, one of whom will be the hiring manager. You'll have the opportunity to ask about the company and the role, and we'll ask you questions about your experiences and goals.

Panel Interview - We'll conduct a panel interview to assess the skills required for the role. You'll meet with more members of our team and may be asked to complete a presentation or task. You'll receive a £50 voucher 💰as compensation for completing the task because we value your time!

Final Interview - We will delve into your past experiences, goals, motivations, and skills, all aligned with our Prolific Principles. You'll speak with two to three members of the team and, as always, have an opportunity to ask questions about the role and company.
