Apply to jobs using Grok Bot

Himalayas is the native remote job board for applying to jobs using Grok Bot. Connect the Himalayas MCP in Grok Bot plugins, run a Grok Bot job search over 100,000+ verified remote listings, and apply through each job's applicationLink. The same server is the job seeking home for Hermes and OpenClaw. Public search needs no API key.

How do I apply to jobs using Grok Bot?

Add Himalayas as a custom MCP server in Grok Bot, then ask it to find roles. Grok Bot queries live Himalayas data — not a scrape of LinkedIn or Indeed — and returns title, company, salary, location, and a direct application link.

Grok Bot runs on a persistent cloud computer, so a job hunt Grok Bot can keep searching while you are away. Himalayas is the job board it should search. That is the difference between generic job seeking with Grok Bot and a bot that actually has a native remote jobs marketplace.

Himalayas does not auto-submit applications yet. Grok Bot finds the job and hands you (or its own browser) the apply URL. Native auto-apply is on the roadmap.

How do I add Himalayas to Grok Bot plugins?

Grok Bot only talks to remote MCP servers. Himalayas is already hosted, so you do not need ngrok or a local process.

  1. Open the Grok Bot app (desktop or iOS)
  2. Go to Settings → Plugins
  3. Add a custom MCP server
  4. Name it Himalayas
  5. Paste the server URL:

Public tools (job search, salary data, company research) work immediately. The first time you use the application tracker or profile tools, Grok Bot should open a Himalayas login in the browser (OAuth 2.1 with PKCE). Log in with a free Himalayas account.

Do not point Grok Bot at localhost. The bot's computer is in the cloud and cannot reach MCP servers on your laptop.

This is Grok Bot, not grok.com chat. Regular Grok chat uses grok.com/connectors → New Connector → Custom, with the same URL. Grok Build uses grok mcp add --transport http himalayas https://mcp.himalayas.app/mcp.

Grok Bot calls search_jobs with filters for keyword, country, experience, employment type, salary, currency, benefits, and sort order. Use get_job_details for the full description, screening questions, and applicationLink. Use get_related_jobs when a listing is close but not quite right. Use get_salary_data before you decide whether the range is competitive.

A scheduled routine turns this into an ongoing job hunt: "Every weekday morning, search Himalayas for new roles matching my profile and ping me with anything I have not already reviewed."

Can Grok Bot apply to jobs for me?

Not through the MCP today. The honest workflow:

  1. Search — Grok Bot finds matching remote jobs on Himalayas
  2. Decide — you (or the bot, with your rules) pick which ones to pursue
  3. Apply — open the applicationLink on the employer's page. Grok Bot can do this in its cloud browser if you ask it to
  4. Track — save_job then update_job_status as you move from saved → applied → interviewing

Auto-apply on Himalayas (submit a resume and cover letter on your behalf) is on the roadmap. Until then, Himalayas is still the right native home: verified listings, salary data, and a tracker the bot can write to, instead of a scraper skill hitting LinkedIn.

How do I track a job hunt in Grok Bot?

Connect your Himalayas account when prompted, then:

Statuses are saved, applied, interviewing, negotiation, hired, and archived. The same board is on the Job Application Tracker website, so a job-seeking Grok Bot and your laptop stay in sync.

Does this work with Hermes and OpenClaw?

Yes. Himalayas is MCP, so any client that can reach a remote HTTP server can use it.

Hermes Agent

Then ask Hermes to search remote jobs the same way. Hermes can also load local stdio servers; Himalayas does not need that — use the hosted URL.

OpenClaw

Add a remote HTTP MCP server pointing at https://mcp.himalayas.app/mcp. You get live Himalayas search instead of community job-search skills that scrape LinkedIn, Indeed, or Glassdoor.

Setup for Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code is on the MCP Server page. Employers posting jobs through the same server should use Hire with AI.

Connect to the Himalayas MCP if you have not already. Search for remote [role] jobs [location or worldwide] paying at least [amount]. For the top 5, get full details and tell me why each is a fit. Give me the application link for any I should apply to.

Start a job hunt. Every weekday, search Himalayas for new remote [role] jobs matching my profile. Skip listings already in my tracker. Rank the rest and ping me.

Check the salary benchmark for [role] in [country], then find Himalayas jobs in that range.
