Use Himalayas in Claude

Run your remote job search, or your remote hiring, from Claude. Ask it to find jobs you can do from your country, tailor a resume to one, update your tracker or post a role, and Claude does the work on Himalayas for you.

The Himalayas connector works in Claude on the web, Claude Desktop, the Claude mobile apps and Claude Code.

How do I connect Himalayas to Claude?

Himalayas is in Claude's connectors directory:

  1. Open Himalayas in the Claude directory and click Connect. Or, in Claude, open Customize → Connectors, browse the directory and search for Himalayas.
  2. Ask something like "Find remote product designer jobs I can do from Canada" to check the connection.

You can also add Himalayas as a custom connector in Customize → Connectors with this URL:

Job, company and salary search work straight away. The first time Claude needs your profile, tracker or company, it asks you to sign in to Himalayas and approve access. Claude never sees your password, and the connection only gets the access you approve.

Connectors you add on the web are also available in Claude Desktop and the mobile apps.

What can Claude do with Himalayas?

For job seekers, Claude can:

  • Search remote jobs by role, country, seniority, salary and benefits, and show new matches for your profile.
  • Research companies and check salary benchmarks by role, seniority and country.
  • Tailor a resume and cover letter to a job, and give you the employer's application link.
  • Keep your application tracker current and reply to messages from companies.
  • Build your profile from LinkedIn or a resume, and practise interviews for a specific job.

For employers, Claude can:

Does Claude ask before making changes?

Yes, for anything that matters. Claude looks things up without asking. Updates, deletes, messages to companies or candidates, and anything that costs money always ask first, and Claude shows you a message's exact text before it is sent. Adding something new, such as a job to your tracker, may run without a prompt depending on your Claude settings. Applications, payments and ID checks always happen in your own browser.

How do I use Himalayas in Claude Code?

The Himalayas plugin adds Himalayas to Claude Code. In Claude Code, run:

Or, from your terminal:

The plugin uses the same connector and adds:

  • Skills for remote job search, applications, the tracker, your profile, company and salary research, job posting, talent sourcing and the company profile.
  • Commands such as /himalayas:start (connect and check your profile), /himalayas:find-jobs, /himalayas:matches, /himalayas:apply, /himalayas:interview, /himalayas:tracker, /himalayas:salary and /himalayas:post-job. Every command works on a free account.

What can I ask Claude?

Some prompts to start with:

  • "Find remote product designer jobs I can do from Canada that pay over $120k."
  • "What does a senior data engineer earn in Germany compared with the United States?"
  • "Check this job against my Himalayas profile, write a cover letter and give me the apply link."
  • "Which of my applications haven't heard back in two weeks?"
  • "Post our senior backend engineer role and find five remote candidates with Go experience."

What if something doesn't work?

  • Claude doesn't ask me to sign in: job, company and salary search need no account. Ask for something that uses your account, such as "show my saved jobs", and Claude asks you to sign in. If you chose to continue without an account when you connected, open Customize → Connectors, disconnect Himalayas and connect again to sign in.
  • Claude says access wasn't approved: you connected with less access than the task needs. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, disconnect Himalayas, connect again and approve the access.
  • Employer tools say there's no company: the account needs a company on Himalayas. Set it up at himalayas.app, then try again.
  • A country search finds nothing: use the country's full name, such as "United Kingdom".
  • Claude hit a limit: apply links are limited to 50 a day per account. The limit resets the next day (UTC).

What does Himalayas cost in Claude?

The connector is free. Search, the tracker, your profile and applying are free with a Himalayas account. Himalayas Plus ($9/month) adds tailored resumes and cover letters for every job, new matches between sessions, spoken interview practice and more. Employers post jobs for free, with optional paid extras. When a task needs a paid feature, Himalayas says so, and you pay on Stripe yourself.

What data does the connector use?

Claude sends requests to Himalayas only when a task needs them: searches, reads of your profile, tracker, documents, inbox or company, and, after you confirm, changes to them. The privacy policy covers how Himalayas handles your data. For every tool and parameter, see the MCP server reference.
