How do I import job details from a URL?
When creating a cover letter (from profile or upload), you can import job details automatically:
- Select "Tailor to job" during the creation flow
- Paste the full URL of the job listing (from Himalayas or any external job board)
- Himalayas automatically extracts:
- Job title
- Company name
- Full job description
- Application link
- This extracted information is used to tailor your cover letter
Alternatively, if you do not have a URL, you can paste the raw job description text directly. The description must be at least 100 characters to give the AI enough context to work with.
Can I edit the cover letter after it is generated?
Yes. After the AI generates your cover letter, you have full editing control through a rich text editor. You can:
- Edit any text the AI wrote
- Add or remove paragraphs

This happens occasionally — you use your one free cover letter on a job that turns out to be expired or no longer accepting applications.

To reduce the risk of applying to expired jobs, check the posting date on the job listing before generating your cover letter. Jobs posted more than 3–4 weeks ago are more likely to have already been filled.
