How do I create headshots?

Upload 1–10 photos of yourself; five is recommended. Choose a style or describe an outfit and setting. Your first square headshots usually arrive in about 30 seconds, with no model training.

What happens to my photos?

Your photos are sent to OpenAI to generate images. We delete reference photos after 30 days, or sooner when you ask. Generated headshots stay until you delete them or your account.

Are AI headshots included with Plus?

AI headshots are included with Himalayas Plus and Max. You can upload photos and choose styles before choosing a plan at Generate.

What if a photo fails?

Retry a failed tile at no charge. A generation whose three images all fail is refunded. If you do not get a single profile-worthy photo you are happy with, contact hi@himalayas.app for a refund.

Q: How do I use a headshot as my profile photo?

Open a finished photo, preview it in a circle, and choose Use as profile photo. You can undo this selection or download the image for another profile.

Create a professional profile photo using photos of yourself as references. There is no personal model to train. The first images usually arrive in about 30 seconds, and each appears as it finishes.

Create your headshots

Open AI headshots.
Upload 1–10 clear, recent photos of yourself. We recommend five. JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC files up to 20 MB each are accepted.
Optionally choose a build. Skip is the default. You do not need to enter demographic details.
Choose up to three styles, or use the preselected Office · navy blazer. The Custom option lets you describe your outfit and setting in up to 150 characters.
Select Generate headshots. AI headshots are included with Plus and Max; you can upload and choose styles before selecting a plan.
Open a finished photo to see a circle preview. Choose Use as profile photo, or download the square image for another profile.

Each style creates three 1024 × 1024 images. If your generation reaches the monthly limit, the app shows the date it resets. Custom descriptions are checked before generation; blocked attempts are not charged.

Choose reference photos

Use recent photos with your face clearly visible. Try a few angles and lighting conditions, and keep other people out of the frame. Avoid filters, sunglasses, and group photos. Every photo you upload is used as a reference. Photos are resized to 1536 pixels on the long edge, and HEIC files are converted to JPEG.

Update your profile photo

Open a finished headshot and choose Use as profile photo. You can undo this selection. If you came from your profile or resume, continue back there when you are happy with the result. Deleting a headshot from the gallery does not remove an image already used as your profile photo.

Retry a failed image

A failed tile has a Retry button. Retrying it does not use another generation. If all three images in a generation fail, that generation is refunded. If you do not get a single profile-worthy headshot you are happy with, contact hi@himalayas.app for a refund.

Change or delete your photos

Choose Change photos to start a new session. Your earlier results stay in the gallery. Uploaded reference photos are kept for 30 days; Delete my photos removes them sooner. To generate again after reference photos have been deleted, upload a new set.

Can I do this with ChatGPT?

Yes, ChatGPT can generate headshots from reference photos. Himalayas provides a guided flow with preset styles, no prompting required, and a one-tap profile-photo action. You can also describe a custom outfit and setting.
