Role Overview - Odoo Functional Analyst

The Odoo Functional Analyst will work closely with leadership and department managers to document operational workflows across the business and translate those processes into clear requirements for the Odoo implementation team.

This individual will help ensure that the ERP system reflects our operational needs and supports testing, training, and documentation throughout the implementation process. This is not primarily a development role. The focus is on business processes, documentation, and coordination with implementation consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

Workflow Documentation

  • Conduct discovery sessions with department leaders and operational staff.

  • Document existing business processes across key departments.

  • Map end-to-end workflows, including:
    • Purchasing and vendor management

    • Receiving and inventory management

    • Warehouse picking and fulfillment

    • Sales order processing

    • Logistics and delivery operations

    • Accounting and financial processes

  • Identify inefficiencies or process gaps that should be addressed during the ERP implementation.

ERP Implementation Support

  • Translate business workflows into functional requirements for the Odoo implementation team.

  • Assist with module configuration review and feedback.

  • Participate in system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Document system configurations and process changes.

  • Coordinate feedback between internal teams and implementation consultants.

Training and Documentation

  • Create internal documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Assist with internal training for team members using Odoo.

  • Develop user guides for common workflows within the system.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience working with Odoo ERP

  • Experience as an Odoo functional consultant, analyst, or implementation specialist

  • Strong understanding of ERP workflows including purchasing, inventory, and sales operations

  • Experience documenting business processes and writing functional requirements

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with Odoo ERP.

  • Experience as an Odoo functional consultant, analyst, or implementation specialist.

  • Strong understanding of ERP workflows, including purchasing, inventory, and sales operations.

  • Experience documenting business processes and writing functional requirements.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with wholesale distribution or supply chain businesses.

  • Experience with multi-warehouse inventory environments.

  • Familiarity with Odoo modules such as:
    • Inventory

    • Purchase

    • Sales

    • Accounting

  • Experience participating in ERP implementations or migrations.

Deliverables

The successful candidate will help produce:

  • Business process documentation.

  • Workflow diagrams and process maps.

  • Functional requirements documentation.

  • Implementation support documentation.

  • ERP configuration documentation, including customizations.

  • Internal training materials and SOPs.

Tools and Collaboration

Candidates should be comfortable working with tools such as:

  • Process mapping tools (Lucidchart, Miro, Visio, etc.).

  • Documentation platforms (Google Docs, Notion, Confluence, etc.).

  • Project management tools (Monday.com, ClickUp, Jira, etc.).

Engagement Scope

Initial engagement will focus on workflow documentation and ERP preparation. Successful candidates may continue to support the Odoo implementation and serve as a long-term subject matter expert for the system.
