This role

The Team Lead, Managed Delivery, will manage a team of 6+ Implementation Consultants, overseeing the end-to-end implementation of the Employment Hero platform. This involves ensuring high-quality project delivery within cycle time, setting clear expectations, providing guidance and direction, and ensuring the team's productivity and effectiveness. As a Team Lead, you’ll have a deep understanding of the Employment Hero Payroll platform and their connecting workflows. You will use this expertise to support your team in delivering successful implementations and providing an optimal customer experience. There are two permanent full time positions available.

Your key focus areas will be:

  • Leading your team members; this includes onboarding new employees, facilitating goal achievement, and enabling employees to deliver on their key performance indicators.
  • You’ll foster a positive work environment and support effective communication practices across teams. You will also provide positive and constructive feedback and make informed decisions based on your knowledge, always prioritising the customer experience.
  • You may on occasion be required to step in and assist with an implementation to gain a deeper understanding of the tasks and challenges the team faces. This understanding will allow you to provide more effective guidance, support, and problem-solving.

This will include the following:

  • Collaborate with team leaders to allocate HR/Payroll projects based on team members’ strengths and capacity, and oversee daily implementation activities to ensure timely, high-quality delivery within cycle times.
  • Act as the first escalation point for client issues, resolving queries and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and service delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team: identifying skill gaps, facilitating development opportunities, and ensuring they meet performance targets and deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture built on open communication, trust, and continuous learning.
  • Provide guidance on customer requirements and project issues, while leading by example and promoting accountability and mutual respect.
  • Oversee team performance through regular feedback, goal setting, reviews, and reporting, while facilitating productive and inclusive team meetings.
  • Manage the end-to-end implementation of HR and Payroll platforms, tailoring solutions to client needs and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of AU/NZ payrol legislation and system capabilities to ensure regulatory compliance and uphold high-quality standards within the team.
  • Ensure accuracy and currency of data across business management systems, including sales, support, project management, and time tracking.
  • Continuously review and enhance delivery processes, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to strategic decisions that support EH’s long-term goals.

Who you are

To thrive at Employment Hero, you’ll need to embody The EH Way - operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact.

For this role, you’ll also bring:

  • Knowledge of Australian Payroll legislation and Australian payroll processing.
  • 1+ years in a leadership or management role, developing reporting employees, preferably with a remote team.
  • 2+ years of combined experience in Payroll implementations (highly desirable but not essential)
  • Exposure to other HR or payroll software and system configurations.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously, meeting critical deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate clients.
  • Proven experience in process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experience delivering customer training and providing technical support is highly regarded.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
