What I'm looking for

Seeking remote full-time or contract roles in network administration, systems administration, NOC or IT support. Experienced in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SD-WAN, FortiGate, VPNs, monitoring and troubleshooting. Based in Kenya (UTC+3), open to international teams. Salary negotiable.

I am a Network and Systems Administrator based in Nakuru, Kenya, with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Engineering from Kabarak University and CCNA certification. My career spans healthcare ICT operations, business systems administration, internet service provider support and network operations. I enjoy solving technical problems, improving service reliability and helping people use technology effectively.

In my current role as Senior Network and Systems Administrator at Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Nakuru Region, I support ICT operations across the Hyrax and CBD branches. My responsibilities include LAN, WAN and wireless connectivity, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft 365. I also support hospital applications, manage user access, troubleshoot incidents and coordinate with vendors and internet service providers to restore services and maintain reliable operations.

My key contributions include supporting the migration from MPLS to SD-WAN, helping improve traffic management and connectivity resilience. I also supported a FortiGate firewall switchover that strengthened network security and monitoring while keeping the planned interruption brief. During the transition from eRemedy to Sanitas, I contributed to user acceptance testing, staff training and go-live support, helping users adapt to the new electronic medical record system.

Previously, at C-MAX Limited, I administered Windows Server and network infrastructure, supported VMware and Hyper-V environments, and handled backups, patching, access management and preventive maintenance. At Icon Fiber Solutions, I provided L1 and L2 technical support, diagnosed connectivity issues and managed tickets and escalations. My NOC internship at Wananchi Group developed my skills in monitoring, incident reporting and service availability.

I have experience with tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, NetXMS and Wireshark. I value clear documentation, accurate reporting and root-cause analysis. When resolving an incident, I aim to understand what caused it and identify practical measures to prevent it from recurring.

My professional interests include cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, network automation and IT service management. I am also developing my understanding of artificial intelligence through the AI Safari programme with Power Learn Project and exploring how AI can support troubleshooting, reporting and operational efficiency.

I am seeking remote opportunities in network operations, systems administration, Microsoft 365 administration, infrastructure support and technical support. I would welcome a role where I can contribute my hands-on experience, collaborate with distributed teams and continue growing toward senior technical and IT leadership responsibilities.
