Mer Ogu
@merogu
Senior development and migration leader shaping evidence-led policy and integration outcomes.
What I'm looking for
I lead across development, migration, diaspora, and climate policy—building strategies that hold up to real-world complexity. Over five years, I’ve worked with government, UN agencies, and NGOs, piloting radio campaigns to surface hidden drivers of migration and designing training that supports reintegration and durable opportunity.
I’m evidence-driven by design: I develop and execute robust MEL tools to track performance, strengthen accountability, and enable adaptive management. I translate field data into persuasive donor narratives while keeping the integrity of individual stories, and I build curricula and digital tools that bridge the gap between policy and lived experience.
I take a people-first approach to leadership, with humility and reflective practice—especially when models fail or assumptions don’t match beneficiary feedback. I mainstream safeguarding, protection, and gender-responsive delivery, and I measure success by stable housing, meaningful employment, and agency—not workshop counts.
My recent experience includes leading compliance and complaints resolution for an end-to-end permitting system, and working directly on resettlement case management with multi-agency coordination and risk-focused safeguarding. Earlier, I directed external relations and programmes through high-visibility advocacy on GBV and human rights, and I supported diaspora and youth economic empowerment through workshops, policy briefs, and digital engagement.
