RHEL Consultant - Clearance Required

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Consultant to join us in Canberra, Australia. In this role, you will help explain the benefits of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and associated management, virtualization, and cloud solutions to our customers. You'll gain understanding of our customers' infrastructures and business needs.

As a Consultant, you will work closely with customers on various specific initiatives including architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and associated cloud and management solutions, including Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Container Platform and Red Hat CloudForms. You'll need to have excellent technical abilities and solid communication and customer-facing skills. It is an essential requirement of this position that candidates hold Australian Citizenship and current security clearance at NV1 or NV2 level.

What will you do:

• As a member of a team or as an individual, assist with the delivery of Red Hat Consulting engagements to our internal and external customers

• Serve as a subject matter expert at the client site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs

• Constantly learn about new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs

• Produce quality results and provide support to more than one project in multiple industries and various types of projects

• Keep stakeholders updated on actual or potential issues that may affect project or company performance

• Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, and software specification, as well as the design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions

• Provide written project documentation that can be distributed within Red Hat and the client management team

• Adapt to changing customer requirements

• Serve as an ambassador of the company between the broader Red Hat and our customers

What will you bring:

• Australian Citizenship and current security clearance at NV1 or NV2 level.

• At least 3-5 years of experience with RHEL as a systems Admin or consultant

• Experience with enterprise-wide deployments

• Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and any of the following Infrastructure related technologies

  • Ansible / Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

  • Red Hat Satellite

  • Authentication services such as IdM/IPA

  • Virtualisation technologies

• Working knowledge of Linux Security Practices and tools to address common criteria

• Technical expertise demonstrated in your previous career opportunities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team to solve problems and issues

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or willingness to pursue certification within 90 days

• Customer focus and an understanding of the value that our work brings to our customers
