PagerDuty is seeking an experienced Principal Product Development Program Manager (Operations) to lead and optimize our software engineering operations initiatives. This role will bridge technical strategy with operational excellence, driving cross-functional programs that enhance our engineering efficiency and delivery capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with an elite team while supporting senior engineering leadership on mission-critical initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong program management and engineering operations background, with exceptional stakeholder management skills.

We are considering candidates in the Remote US and Canada who are on PST and MST only at this time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead complex, cross-functional technical programs focused on engineering operations, infrastructure, and process improvements that support operational excellence in Product Development.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the Prod Dev strategy, engineering priorities, and critical path execution .
  • Partner with engineering leaders to identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering operations and productivity
  • Facilitate technical decision-making processes and drive consensus among multiple stakeholders
  • Lead incident management process and implement improvements as needed
  • Other responsibilities in operational support of the Product Development department of PagerDuty as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, with at least 5 years focusing on engineering operations
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, DevOps practices, and cloud technologies
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale highly technical programs
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and operational monitoring
  • Proven track record of change management and being an agent of change in a software development environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Professional certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Agile (CSM, SAFe)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Background in site reliability engineering (SRE) practices
  • Experience with incident management and on-call operations
  • Track record of implementing engineering productivity improvements

The base salary range for this position is 164,000 - 263,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
