Founding Designer

The Role:

As our Founding Designer, you’ll own the entire design function—from strategy to execution.

You’ll craft exceptional user experiences that make powerful AI tools feel simple and human. Your work will shape the company as an AI-native brand and set the foundation for a design-led culture. You’ll collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams to ship world-class software. As a core member of our team, your designs will reimagine the future of AI-driven tools for real-world projects.

Responsibilities:

You’ll lead design at every level and own the end-to-end process—from concept to launch.

• Design AI-native interfaces: Create intuitive user interactions optimized for AI workflows. Translate deep user insights into thoughtful product direction and UX design.
• Craft visuals and branding: Establish a distinct, cohesive visual identity for Beams across product and marketing. Design engaging visuals, animations, and interactions that bring our brand to life.
• Drive product development: Rapidly prototype user flows and design explorations. Iterate, refine, and deliver polished designs ready for seamless handoff. Build and maintain scalable design systems and component libraries.

Who we're looking for:

You have 5–10 years of design experience, ideally in early-stage environments where you’ve taken on increasing levels of ownership and complexity. You’re a true generalist—comfortable being the first (and for now, only) designer on the team, and excited to tackle everything from product UX to branding to marketing.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a strong foundation in design principles, color theory, and typography, with a portfolio that showcases aesthetic sensibility and creative exploration.
• Is fluent in Figma, able to create high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, reusable components, and scalable design systems.
• Brings strong visual design skills, with the ability to create refined illustrations, animations, and UI assets.
• Has experience building or styling websites using tools like Webflow or Framer.
• Bonus: Is comfortable with video editing and lightweight motion/production work.
