I'm a communications and cultural heritage professional based in Costa Rica, with 20 years of experience across communication strategy, journalism, cultural policy, museums and international organizations. I work remotely with teams in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Since 2023 I've worked as a Public Communications Consultant for the UNESCO San José Regional Office, where I develop communication content and strategy on education, science and culture. I'm also Vice Chair of the Advisory Council of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), elected in 2023 and re-elected in Dubai in 2025. I previously served six years as President of ICOM Costa Rica, leading its shift to fully digital operations during COVID-19. I'm also Co-Chair of the Museum of Identity and Pride (MIO), Central America's first LGBTIQ+ museum, which I helped found in 2018.
Earlier in my career I worked as a legislative advisor on culture and audiovisual production in Costa Rica's Legislative Assembly (2018–2022), where I helped draft and advance laws on the creative economy and film incentives. Before that I worked in communications and artistic production at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, and as a journalist for Grupo Nación. I've also worked with ICCROM in Rome and with the University for Peace.
I hold a Master's in World Heritage and Projects for Development (UNESCO Chair, University of Turin, Cum Laude) and a Master's in Media Management. I'm now a PhD candidate in Society and Culture at the University of Costa Rica, researching community museums in Central America. I've spoken at international conferences in Singapore, Taiwan, Brazil and the Netherlands, and I'm the author of two short-fiction books, Música para correr (2021) and Postales (2025).
