The Director, Operational Analytics is a leadership role responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of operational analytics initiatives within the Ratings APMO function. This leader will be a key driver in transforming the APMO into a data-driven organization, enhancing operational efficiency. This role directly supports the PMO Ops pillar of Enterprise PMO, contributing to overall PMO maturity and value delivery. The Director will focus on data collection, analysis, reporting, and the development of actionable insights to optimize APMO processes and performance. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical background and demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive operational analytics strategy and roadmap aligned with Enterprise PMO Ops pillar objectives and overall S&P Global Ratings strategic priorities. This includes identifying key performance indicators and defining measurement frameworks.
- Data Governance and Infrastructure: Collaborate with IT and Data Governance teams to ensure the availability, quality, and integrity of data used for APMO analytics. Define and maintain key data metrics and reporting standards, advocating for data improvements where necessary.
- Performance Reporting and Dashboards: Design, develop, and maintain robust performance dashboards and reports to monitor key APMO metrics. Utilize visualization tools to communicate insights effectively to senior leadership.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement based on data analysis. In collaboration with the Head of Agile Practices, lead efforts to optimize APMO processes, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve efficiency, while demonstrating and communicating measurable results.
- Predictive Analytics and Forecasting: Explore and implement predictive analytics techniques to forecast initiative outcomes, identify potential risks, and optimize resource allocation. Develop models to proactively identify and mitigate potential challenges to initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Ratings and Enterprise to understand their analytics needs and deliver tailored solutions. Influence decision-making through data-driven insights.
- Tool Evaluation and Implementation: Evaluate and recommend new analytics tools and technologies to enhance APMO capabilities. Oversee the implementation and adoption of these tools, ensuring successful integration with existing systems.
- Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of analytics processes, methodologies, and reporting standards. Provide training to APMO staff on analytics tools and techniques.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to support strategic decision-making and address specific business questions.
What We're Looking for:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
12+ years of progressive professional experience with at least 3 years in leadership positions
Proven expertise in data visualization and business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik Sense
Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and data manipulation tools, including SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing analytics strategies and roadmaps in enterprise environments
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership through data-driven insights
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field
Experience in financial services, ratings agencies, or project management office (PMO) environments
Knowledge of predictive analytics and machine learning techniques with experience in forecasting and risk modeling
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and experience working with enterprise data management teams to ensure data quality and integrity
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $185,000 to $225,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
