Position Summary
Platform.sh is seeking a highly skilled Pricing Specialist to join our Product team and drive our Product-Led Growth strategy. In this pioneering role, you'll develop innovative pricing strategies while collaborating across all internal teams. As our inaugural Pricing Specialist, your expertise will shape tailored pricing models, and you will closely monitor their impact on revenue and profitability. Staying abreast of industry trends and competitor pricing will be key to our success in this dynamic market landscape.
You'll spearhead pricing strategy development and craft specialized pricing strategies that directly cater to our target market's needs, ensuring alignment with evolving market dynamics.
This high-impact role promises visibility, allowing you to establish best practices, foster partnerships, and drive strategic plans.
This role reports directly to our Chief Financial Officer.
What you can expect
- Strategic Market Research: Engage in in-depth market analysis, conduct competitor assessments, and review transaction data to develop and refine pricing strategies.
- Collaborative Pricing Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce effective pricing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Continuous Price Monitoring: Monitor market fluctuations daily to ensure pricing remains competitive and profitable, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Customer Interaction and Quote Generation: Interact with customers, provide quotes, and communicate special pricing offers, maintaining alignment with established pricing policies.
- Training and Support: Offer training and support to internal teams, ensuring adherence to established pricing guidelines and policies across the organization.
- Implementation and Feedback Analysis: Analyze customer feedback on pricing strategies, collaborate with teams for effective integration, and conduct post-implementation analysis for ongoing optimization.
- Ongoing Strategy Development: Engage in continuous hypothesis development, qualitative validation through customer interactions, and synthesis of pricing recommendations to drive forward-looking pricing strategies.
What you bring
- Pricing Strategy Experience: Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing pricing strategies, preferably within the PaaS or tech industry.
- Deep Market Understanding: Proven ability to conduct in-depth market research, strong knowledge of market dynamics, competitor analysis, and customer behavior to formulate competitive pricing strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product, to develop and execute pricing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial metrics, including revenue, profitability, and pricing models, with the ability to assess the impact of pricing changes on business performance.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to monitor market trends, assess customer feedback, and derive actionable insights to optimize pricing structures.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to convey complex pricing strategies effectively, gain buy-in from stakeholders, and drive alignment across departments.
- Adaptability and Innovation: Ability to adapt quickly to market changes and innovate pricing models to address evolving customer needs and market trends.
- Tools and Technology: Familiarity with pricing software, data analytics tools, and proficiency in relevant analytical software for pricing analysis and modeling.
- Problem-Solving Orientation: Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset to identify pricing challenges and develop creative solutions to optimize pricing strategies.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent: A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in pricing strategy would be a plus.
