As the Commercial Pricing Manager you will lead the pricing team forming part of the wider Commercial function. The Commercial Pricing Manager is responsible for managing the team who creates financial models to assess the profitability of new business opportunities and re-pricing of existing contracts.
The Commercial Pricing Manager will work on the more complex deals and manage a Pricing Analyst who works on the less complex deals.
You’ll be the commercial & pricing support in production of the pricing models which will support decision making by the Executive team and Board. You will be responsible for providing tailored and commercially insightful qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify the financial and strategic impact of the prospect onboarding and pricing strategies.
You will lead on Project Accounting for revenue generating projects, including specifically the implementation phase of the prospect onboarding and post go live financial review against the original pricing model to ensure consistent with expected outcomes.
In this role you will be working closely with the Commercial Director and CCO as well as CFO and Head of Financial Planning.
Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Work with the bid, sales, and solutions team to improve the overall life cycle of bids / contracts.
- Document all processes, controls, and data inputs into the pricing models
- Develop and adhere to standardised model techniques, with general assumptions and operating metrics agreed with wider business.
- Adhere and represent the Commercial Pricing function at wider group processes (e.g., Financial Reporting Process, Programme Governance etc.)
- Develop commercially sustainable processes and procedures for new initiatives/areas launched.
- Support the Commercial Pricing team in the preparation of the Client P&Ls and methodology for allocation of costs.
- Assist in the analysis of the actuals produced from the Client P&L to the signed off pricing approved in Bid Gate to understand the reasons for variances and any action required.
- Project reporting for the revenue generating projects (including Regulatory Change). Tracking actuals against budget and variance analysis.
- Responsible for preparing a P&L for revenue generating projects, showing the planned profitability based on commercial agreements with clients. Ensuring accurate data inputs to make informed decisions.
- Track actuals against budget on a monthly basis and understand variances.
- Continually track a forecast for the project outturn versus the signed off P&L
- Prepare the required financial reporting into Project Governance meetings e.g., Investment Committee, CRB, Delivery Boards etc.
- Ensuring that the appropriate commercial governance is applied to all bidding activity within your area of deployment
- Managing commercial obligations throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring that value leakage is minimised and commercial opportunities are maximised

The successful candidate will ideally have...
- Qualified as an accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
- Able to demonstrate sufficient post-qualification experience (a qualification in Pricing is ideal but not essential)
- Experience in:
- Commercial Pricing
- Financial Services and Outsourcing industries (desirable)
- Team management experience (desirable)
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Fantastic written and verbal communication skills
