Our team is looking for a Director, Learning and Development on a permanent, full-time basis working anywhere in Canada at 35 hours per week. The impact you will have:

The Director, Learning and Development strategically develops and delivers comprehensive learning and development programs and initiatives that strengthen knowledge, competencies, compliance, and performance for both employees and volunteers.  This role drives impact in the MS community through organizational growth, employee and volunteer engagement, leadership development, and building a robust talent pipeline. The Director, Learning and Development:

  • Analyzes organizational needs for learning and development, aligning L&D activities with organizational strategy. Provides solutions for both employees and volunteers that meet organizational demands, foster the development of both team members and volunteers, and encourage a culture of continuous learning.
  • Leads the development, management, and delivery of learning programs to meet individual, portfolio and organizational learning needs within specified timescales and resources; identifies and incorporates appropriate L&D methodologies and delivery channels; and develops content to support high levels of learner engagement and achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Trains, coaches, mentors and collaborates with people leaders and others involved in employee and volunteer development efforts to ensure clear career and succession pathways, consistency, alignment and effectiveness of learning opportunities.
  • Evaluates all learning and development programs to ensure the engagement of learners and achievement of intended learning outcomes, ensuring a positive employee and volunteer experience.

Requirements

If you are a learning and development professional adept at combining strategic vision with hands-on execution of deliverables, and have a strong desire to lead collaborative work, this role might just be for you!

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has 5+ years’ experience developing and facilitating learning strategies to support organizational objectives, leadership development, and competency-specific learning
  • Is results-driven with a focus on accountability and executing programs with a sense of urgency
  • Is adaptable and resourceful, capable of designing and delivering learning in a fast-paced environment for simplicity and impact
  • Has strong strategic and critical thinking abilities, with the demonstrated ability to align learning solutions to organizational outcomes and performance
  • Effectively leads collaborative relationships with key constituents; consulting, advising, and asking insightful questions
  • Is experience-focused; applying adult learning principles and keeping the learner experience at the forefront
  • Has project, budget and change management experience, including the ability to embed and drive adoption and utilization of new knowledge and skills as part of the learning design
  • Has knowledge and experience in designing and utilizing learning measurement tools to drive strategy, measure impact and drive accountability with leaders and learners
  • Effectively communicates across all levels of an organization, engaging all constituents to build a strong learning and development culture
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of learning methodologies, technology, tools, and best practices
  • Has post-secondary education in Organizational Development, Leadership Development or a related area
  • Has experience in a volunteer-oriented environment an asset
