About MS Canada
MS Canada, formerly known as the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, is dedicated to connecting and empowering the multiple sclerosis (MS) community to create positive change. Our customers, individuals living with MS and their families, face the daily challenges of a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, with an average of 12 Canadians diagnosed every day. This is why we are committed to being a leader in finding a cure for MS and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life. We provide vital information, support, and advocacy to those affected by this unpredictable disease. Our services include the MS Knowledge Network, peer support programs, equipment funding through Quality of Life Grants, educational webinars, and accessible physical activity programs. We understand that living with MS can bring uncertainty and a range of symptoms, from fatigue and dizziness to impaired sensation and mobility challenges, which is why our programs are designed to offer practical assistance and a sense of community, ensuring no one has to face MS alone.
A core part of our mission is to fund world-leading MS research. We invest in studies aimed at understanding the causes and risk factors of MS, developing new treatments, managing symptoms, improving imaging techniques, and enhancing overall wellness for those with the disease. Our research portfolio is substantial, reflecting our commitment to accelerating breakthroughs that will lead to a cure. We actively advocate for policy changes that benefit the MS community, focusing on areas such as income and employment security, access to treatments, and comprehensive care and housing. Through fundraising events like MS Walk and MS Bike, and partnerships with corporate supporters like A&W Canada, we mobilize communities across the country to contribute to our cause. These efforts, driven by tens of thousands of dedicated volunteers and donors, allow us to continue providing essential services and investing in a future free of MS. We strive to ensure that every Canadian impacted by MS can participate fully in all aspects of life, supported by a strong, informed, and hopeful community.
