About Leadr
Leadr's journey began in the fall of 2018. Matt Tresidder, after an intense six-year period at the rapidly growing startup Pushpay, decided to take a well-deserved break and travel the world with his wife. A few months into this sabbatical, a call from Chris Heaslip, co-founder of Pushpay, sparked a new idea. Chris asked Matt about his next venture, and Matt expressed a desire to start something new, fueled by his passion for leading and developing others. This conversation laid the groundwork for months of brainstorming on how technology could be leveraged to enhance leadership skills. In June 2019, Matt Tresidder and Chris Heaslip co-founded Leadr.
The initial phase was a whirlwind of ideation, product innovation, and creating a minimum viable product (MVP). They took their product to market, focusing on the economics of running a business while striving to maintain a high level of excellence for their customers. The early days involved taking small, deliberate steps towards their mission of making people better leaders. Starting with zero customers in 2020, Leadr grew to serve over 340 organizations by mid-2021. The team also expanded, from 15 staff members in July 2020 to over 40 full-time employees a year later. This growth was driven by customers who believed in the importance of developing leaders at every level and by new hires who were drawn to Leadr's mission. A significant milestone was reached in July 2021 with the closing of a $10 million Series A funding round, enabling Leadr to take larger strides towards its goal of developing 1 million leaders. The company moved its headquarters to Plano, Texas, and by December 2021, celebrated onboarding its 500th customer. In February 2021, Matt Tresidder officially became CEO, with Chris Heaslip taking on the role of Executive Chairman. Leadr's mission is to transform managers into coaches to drive team effectiveness and develop 1 million leaders worldwide.
