Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon Redshift, MySQL, and Elasticsearch to join our high-performing Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring robust data security and governance, and delivering scalable data solutions to support business insights and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to move, clean, and enrich data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
• Architect and optimize data models in Amazon Redshift for high-performance analytics and reporting.
• Design and maintain structured and unstructured data systems using MySQL and Elasticsearch for diverse use cases including full-text search and real-time analytics.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, lineage, and security across the data platform through effective data governance practices.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Software Engineers to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Implement and enforce data access controls, encryption, masking, and compliance mechanisms (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and databases.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and tools in data engineering and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Proven hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift (performance tuning, spectrum, workload management).
• Proficiency in MySQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization).
• Experience with Elasticsearch (indexing strategies, query DSL, performance optimization).
• Strong expertise in ETL frameworks and data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, dbt).
• Solid understanding of data governance, data privacy, compliance frameworks, and security best practices.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with AWS ecosystem (S3, Lambda, IAM, KMS) and DevOps principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
• Knowledge of data cataloging tools (e.g., AWS Glue Catalog, Amundsen, DataHub).
• Experience working in Agile teams using Git, Jira, and CI/CD tools.

Other Details:

• Working Days: Sunday - Thursday
• Working Timings: 10 AM - 6 PM (PKT)
• Location: Remote from anywhere in Pakistan
• Experience: 5+ Years in Data Engineering
