Lead Software Developer -SaaS Cloud Platform ( REMOTE )


Client Introduction:

North-American agri-tech and automation company

Position Overview

As a Software Lead, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and scaling software systems across automation platform. You will contribute to both new product development and sustaining engineering for existing products. This role plays a critical part in bringing products to market successfully while supporting internal teams with deep technical expertise.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager and works closely with the Engineering team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and reliable software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining company software assets
  • Developing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure
  • Ensuring that developed software is compliant with DFT standards
  • Provide key leadership with the preparation of the Annual Engineering Plan and track follow-ups
  • Work with the Scrum Master to generate key performance indicators.
  • Define and monitor engineering KPIs and suggest improvement efforts.
  • Appropriate analysis and recommendations of potential new technologies

- Lead and participate in QITs

  • Work on JIRA tickets, sprint planning, code reviews, and unit testing.
  • Maintain Confluence pages for system documentation
  • Support the manufacturing department by developing appropriate test codes, diagnostics, systems, and processes.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, or related field
  • 10+ years of professional firmware or full-stack MERN & MEAN experience.
  • Strong expertise in at least one modern programming language
  • Experience with APIs, mobile integration, and enterprise-level systems
  • Strong knowledge of databases (MySQL, SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB)
  • Working knowledge of microservices, RESTful services, and domain-driven design
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of security, networking, and deployment architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD, unit testing, and automated testing frameworks
  • Proven ability to fully complete projects with structured documentation

Additional Plus Points

  • Front-end experience with AngularJS, React, Bootstrap, LESS/SASS
  • Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, AMQP, WebSockets)
  • Experience with containers, virtualisation, and hybrid cloud environments
  • Prior leadership on enterprise-scale applications
