ABOUT THE TEAM
The engineering team is responsible for all technology for Bestow and the Bestow Platform. We serve employees, consumers, and enterprise customers. As well as building software, we integrate and manage many third-party products used by employees and as part of the platform. Our major functional teams are product engineering, infrastructure, IT, data analytics, martech, and program management. Engineering works closely with product management and design to define and prioritize the product roadmap.
The Bestow Partner Support Team is a highly visible and essential cog in the engineering org. We work with all the engineering teams and in all stacks to pinpoint, analyze, and fix as many bugs as possible without escalation to give as much time as possible to the rest of the org to create new products instead of having to fix issues with existing products. We also help our account management team align and guide enhancement work throughout our org to keep our partners happy and up-to-date with our ever-evolving products.
This role reports to our Partner Support Manager and is open to Remote (US)
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with our Product Managers, Engineers, and external partners to develop and deliver integrated solutions to bring our digital life insurance experience to partners. Part customer consultant, part technical writer, part applications architect, and part software engineer, this role is a key liaison between various parts of the Bestow organization. You will contribute in the following ways:
- Working jointly with external/internal engineers, product managers, and account managers to assist in finding solutions to best facilitate integration into our partner products.
- Providing tier 2 and 3 support to partners and internal customers along with troubleshooting and providing solutions to challenges as they arise.
- Assisting in, coordinating and rolling out new products along with enhancements to our partners as our product continues to evolve.
- Working closely with internal Product Managers to coordinate bug fixes and enhancements while helping to guide the internal engineering teams to understand external partner limitations and issues as they arise.
- We are continually building and helping to refine forever, growing and adapting internal as well as customer-facing documentation, including integration guides, how-to articles, knowledge base articles, and test plans.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- General knowledge of programming languages
- (Python, Go, TypeScript, etc.)
- 2-4 years of full-stack professional software development experience (preferably Python, Go, or TypeScript)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex technical issues to everyone from the super technical to layman’s terms.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC life cycle
- 2+ years experience using, querying, and debugging (APIs, SQL, etc.)
- Experience using a formal ticketing system such as Jira, Salesforce, ZenDesk, etc.
- An excitement for technology and a desire to learn and adapt in an ever-changing market.
- Atlassian suite experience (jira, confluence, salesforce, slack) is preferred
- Experience designing APIs and/or event-driven systems is a strong plus
- QA or Automated testing experience would be highly valued
