Career Journey & Achievements My career is defined by a transition from high-stakes physical systems to high-precision digital intelligence. I began my professional journey in the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power program, where I operated secondary plant propulsion systems. This experience instilled in me a "zero-failure" mindset and a disciplined approach to technical documentation and quality assurance that remains the backbone of my work ethic today.

After earning my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Davis, I expanded my expertise into the digital realm through Data Science and Analytics immersions at General Assembly. This allowed me to pivot into Systems Analysis and AI Training, where I have successfully managed complex projects ranging from technical support at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to my current role as an AI Training Expert. One of my key achievements includes the meticulous acoustic segmentation and English language data analysis for advanced audio models, where I helped bridge the gap between raw human speech and machine understanding through precise RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback).

Current Focus & Technical Interests I am deeply interested in the "Reasoning" phase of AI development—moving beyond simple pattern recognition to true logical accuracy. Currently, I leverage Python, SQL, and NLP to evaluate and refine LLMs, ensuring they are not only accurate but contextually aware. My interest in Data Analytics isn't just about the numbers; it’s about the story they tell. I enjoy the "detective work" of data cleaning and transformation, using tools like Tableau and Data Bricks to uncover insights that drive better model performance.

Beyond the Screen When I’m not training models or querying databases, I am a passionate video editor (proficient in DaVinci Resolve). This interest has surprisingly enhanced my professional work; editing trains the ear for pacing, rhythm, and flow, which is invaluable when evaluating AI-generated voice and conversational outputs. Based in the scenic region of Castelo Branco, Portugal, I am a dedicated remote-first professional who values the autonomy of the "digital nomad" lifestyle while maintaining the rigid discipline of a veteran.
