Mykhailo Katskyi

Full-stack developer with 5+ years of commercial experience, working in TypeScript across React/Next.js front ends and Node.js services on GCP, AWS and Firebase. I am used to owning features end to end in small, flat teams: from goal-level requirements through data modeling, architecture and technology selection to release, monitoring and production support.

At VisCap Media (2024 to 2026) I developed the core web application of an AI-driven video advertising platform with Next.js, React, Zustand, React Query and Ant Design, and contributed to its React Native and Electron companion apps. I built a concurrent Firestore collection iterator for production migrations that cut processing time by up to 95% on collections of 100,000+ documents, since published on npm as firestore-iterator. I designed Firestore data models, security rules and migrations for collections exceeding 500,000 documents with a Typesense search layer, and co-led the platform’s migration from Firestore to MongoDB. I delivered a file-upload security pipeline for CASA SAQ and Google Drive extended-access compliance (ClamAV on Cloud Run, a quarantine bucket and Cloud Tasks), built Node.js APIs with Express and later NestJS on Cloud Run and Cloud Functions, and integrated LLM-based text and image generation with structured input/output schemas. I also introduced a team-wide QA Guide practice and served on the production support rotation for about two years.

Before that, at ITCraft (2020 to 2023), I built admin and analytics interfaces for client projects with React, Next.js and TypeScript, along with the back ends behind them on MERN and PERN stacks and Firebase.

Personal projects: AdLens, AI analysis for video ads (useadlens.com), and Likely Weather, a multi-model weather forecast (likelyweather.com). I use Claude Code and agentic coding workflows daily.
