Melisa Oktay

I’m a Digital Economy master’s student at WU Vienna with a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, where I graduated as valedictorian. My background combines business, technology, data, and research, which allows me to work comfortably across both technical and non-technical teams.

I have hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Flask, Pandas, scikit-learn, data analysis, machine learning, digital product development, and business strategy. One of my projects, YumMatch, involved building a recommendation system and web application from the ground up, combining data processing, machine learning, backend development, and user-focused product thinking.

Through my studies and project work, I’ve also worked on topics including AI, digital transformation, predictive analytics, IT governance, privacy, emerging technologies, organizational strategy, and digital business models. I’m particularly good at taking complex or unfamiliar problems, learning quickly, structuring the information, and turning it into something practical.

I’m most interested in roles across product, AI and tech, data, digital strategy, innovation, research, operations, and growth. I’m looking for an international or remote-first team where I can contribute both analytically and creatively, take real ownership of projects, and continue building a broad skill set across technology and business.
