I’m looking for a role in public health, health improvement, policy or strategy where I can contribute to wider population level change. I’m particularly interested in prevention, health inequalities, behaviour change and service improvement. I’d like to move away from predominantly frontline work and towards research, policy, strategy and project based roles.

Kat Males
@katmales
Nutritionist studying Public Health, looking to move into public health policy and roles focused on improving health at a wider, systems level.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) and MSc Public Health student at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, with experience supporting children, families and vulnerable adults across local authority, education and community settings.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong interest in prevention, health promotion, behaviour change and reducing health inequalities. My experience across safeguarding, early intervention and public services has given me an understanding of the wider determinants of health and the importance of collaborative, evidence-based approaches to improving outcomes.
Alongside my public sector work, I run my own health coaching business, providing personalised nutrition guidance and fitness support. I also have experience working in the fitness industry and am a qualified spin instructor, so I have a strong interest in nutrition, physical activity and helping people make sustainable changes to their health.
I’m now looking to move further towards public health, health improvement, policy, strategy and systems-level work. While I enjoy working directly with individuals, I’m particularly interested in roles where I can contribute to wider change and help improve health outcomes at a population level.
I’m interested in areas including health inequalities, prevention, nutrition, children and young people, behaviour change and the wider determinants of health. I’m particularly keen to find roles where I can combine my practical experience with my academic background in nutrition and public health, and I’m open to opportunities across the UK, particularly hybrid or remote roles.
