Joseph Akins

I lead Alberta's provincial statistical services program at Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, directing official statistics, workforce analytics, demographic analysis, and advanced analytical services for government decision-making. Previously at the University of Alberta's TREC program, I led analytics, data governance, and information management for major longitudinal health services research initiatives.

Across Alberta Health, Municipal Affairs, and TREC, I've transformed administrative, economic, demographic, workforce, and health system data into practical recommendations for executives, policymakers, and healthcare leaders. I build multidisciplinary teams, modernize reporting and analytical workflows, and develop statistical models, forecasts, dashboards, and evidence that support workforce sustainability, health system planning, and public policy.
