Jonathan Ridgway

I’m an experienced technical support and customer service professional with more than 25 years of experience working with technology and helping people solve problems.

I spent over 22 years running my own IT support business, working with individuals and small businesses on hardware, software, networking, security, system setup and troubleshooting. This gave me a broad technical background across Windows, macOS and Linux, as well as considerable experience explaining technical problems clearly to people with very different levels of technical knowledge.

More recently, I worked remotely for Teleperformance Greece on the Dropbox account from 2019 to 2025. My work covered technical support, subscriptions and licensing, account access and security. In my later years on the project, I specialised in account security, including compromised accounts, unauthorised access, phishing, two-factor authentication issues and account recovery. I regularly handled more than 400 support tickets per week while maintaining clear and professional communication with customers around the world.

I’m comfortable working independently and remotely, investigating problems, learning new systems and finding practical solutions rather than simply following a script. I have extensive experience with ticketing and CRM systems such as Zendesk, cloud-based software, spreadsheets, remote support tools and customer communication.

I’m now looking for a remote role where I can make use of both sides of my experience: my technical background and my ability to work directly with customers. I’m particularly interested in technical support, customer support, account security, IT support and similar remote roles.

Outside work, my main interests include technology, photography, writing, reading, cycling and hiking. I enjoy learning new things and tend to be naturally curious, particularly when it comes to technology and solving problems.
