I’ve had a slightly unusual career path, but there’s been a pretty clear thread through it. I seem to keep ending up in situations where something is new, a bit messy, or not quite figured out yet, and I really enjoy helping make sense of it.

I started out in customer-facing roles at Apple, then spent a few years in UK financial services with Lloyds Banking Group. When I moved back to Australia I joined UCFS, part of Berkshire Hathaway, working in settlements. Working in regulated environments taught me a lot about precision, but also about how frustrating things become when processes are designed around the organisation rather than the people actually using them.

From there I joined Adventist Media and helped build a digital function that was still taking shape. There wasn’t an established way of doing everything, so a lot of the job was working out how projects should run, creating the processes and documentation, and helping turn something fairly ambiguous into something people could actually work with. That was probably when I realised how much I enjoy that kind of work.

Since then I’ve worked across health tech and consulting. At togetherAI, a digital mental health platform, I worked on market and competitor analysis and helped translate that into thinking around the product and customer experience. At The Experience Foundry I now work across commercial and delivery operations. The work is varied: I project managed a cloud platform rollout across more than 20 international offices, delivered a product experience review for a VR therapeutics company, built our ANZ business development activity from the ground up, and published research on how AI-assisted clinical documentation affects clinician workload and burnout.

Health technology is the area I keep coming back to. I’m fascinated by why good products sometimes fail once they meet the real world. Often the technology itself isn’t the problem. It’s the workflow around it, the way it’s introduced, or the fact that the people expected to use it weren’t involved enough in shaping it.

I’m also finishing my commerce degree alongside work, after taking the long way around to it.

I’m looking for fully remote operations work, ideally in health tech or another mission-driven technology company. I’m comfortable working independently, I like working across functions, and I’m usually at my best when the problem is still a little unclear and someone needs to help turn it into something workable.
