Gavin Newfield

At Sunbet, a division of Sun International, I lead operations across three markets for a business generating R2 billion+ in annual revenue. I manage 80+ staff and seven direct reports spanning Call Centre, Business Insights, PMO, Payments, Processing, and Fraud.

I've re-architected Call Centre and Processing departments end-to-end, redesigning workflows and systems to improve efficiency and service delivery. I'm also leading the rollout of Claude, Databricks, and Lovable to modernize operations and support data-driven decisions

I sit on ManCo, lead due diligence for prospective acquisitions, and own market-expansion and company-wide software-platform decisions. My work includes KPI design, performance management, operational systems architecture, and cross-functional delivery.

Earlier, I managed African-market operations and Country Managers at Betway, helping deliver its sports jackpot suite and horse racing/Tote product across markets. I also bring experience in business development, affiliate partnerships, marketing, content management, and running an independent bartending business with sales and P&L ownership.
