To whom it may concern,
With a decade of customer service behind me, you could say I could carry out any customer service role with my eyes closed. It’s what I thrive on and seems to be what I’m naturally good at and I think my sense of fulfilment always comes across. Now, having been out of the work-force since 2014 due to illness, I’m absolutely desperate to get back to what I do best.
As you can see from my CV, I was a busy bee until 2014 when I actually stopped working to pursue a law degree full-time. Unfortunately, in September 2015, illness hit and never left. Out of nowhere, I developed chronic migraine meaning I had more than fifteen attacks per month and they would often last for days. Considering how fit, busy and sociable I’d been beforehand, this was a shock to my system. Additionally, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Dealing with both of these illnesses at once taught me a lot. I’ll bashfully say that I have a level of strength and determination like few others.
In recent months, my migraines have become episodic rather than chronic. I’m thrilled not to have to live with that level of pain every day. My endometriosis is very present and makes her voice heard but I’ve gotten into a rhythm with it. Please note that from time to time, I may need to attend medical appointments but other than this, considering it will be a remote role, I don’t envisage needing any accommodations as such.
I’m strong of mind so not easily pushed in situations where I perhaps need to step in for a team member. My confidence comes from having the amount of experience I do in retail and hospitality. There’s nothing I haven’t seen or dealt with so nothing phases me. I really enjoy dealing with a variety of personalities and meeting them at their level to make them as comfortable as possible, be this with a team member or customer. I truly believe in equal happiness and satisfaction between staff and customers as it’s all one cycle. If my team members don’t feel as though their needs are being met, they certainly won’t be in the best position to meet the customers’ needs. Finally, I hope it’s come across that I’m honest and friendly. If something goes wrong, I’ll always speak up and if someone needs a helping hand, I’m happy to be the one to offer that. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
Kind Regards
Emma Christie
