Dalton Hutchinson
@daltonhutchinson
Independent game developer and Unity engineer who builds gameplay, shaders, multiplayer systems, and immersive VR tools.
What I'm looking for
I program gameplay mechanics, shaders, multiplayer functionality, and backend systems for my games, with a strong focus on shipping features end-to-end. I launched a successful Kickstarter campaign for The Newton Mystery, raising $7,686, and finished and released my first game, Mason and Strings, on Steam and itch.io.
I’ve also competed and presented my work, winning 1st place at TooManyGames indie game showcase and appearing at showcases including PlayNYC and MAGFest. I released The Newton Mystery on Steam with over 350 total units sold, keeping momentum from prototype to customer-ready releases.
Beyond games, I built a 3D geospatial visualization application from the ground up in Unity and C# using Unity DOTS and the Unity graphics API to visualize millions of data points. I’ve also developed a Python + Flask tool for adding metadata to large image sets, and programmed VR Gallery mechanics including player movement, UI, and multiplayer using Normcore.
