Benjamin Edwards
@benjaminedwards
Health Physicist with expertise in radiation safety and research.
What I'm looking for
I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Radiological Sciences and Protection at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where I also work as a student employee in the Radiation Safety Office. My role involves ensuring safe working conditions in various radiation labs, including a nuclear reactor and an accelerator. I have developed a strong foundation in operational health physics tasks, including safety assessments, dose record reviews, and detector calibrations.
Previously, I worked as a Research Technician at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I utilized Geant4 to simulate radiation damage in biological systems. My experience as a Research Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center involved calculating dose accumulation in radiation therapy patients, where I managed sensitive patient information and coordinated secure data transfers. These experiences have equipped me with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the field of health physics.
