Working as a Frontend Software Engineer in the Care Delivery Squad is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of healthcare innovation. You'll be directly involved in leveraging technology and data to fundamentally reshape how care is delivered, rather than just digitizing existing processes. This role allows you to contribute to a mission-driven team focused on designing and scaling a more efficient and effective care model. Ultimately, your work will help streamline care delivery, improve member outcomes, and enhance care team capacity, making a tangible impact on people's lives.
Responsibilities
Spearhead the development of impactful, medium to large-scale initiatives within Virta's Care Delivery systems, leveraging modern technologies like React, GraphQL, and TypeScript to bring innovative solutions to life.
Drive innovation by collaborating with a diverse dream team of product, design, clinical, applied AI, and data analytics experts to craft and launch new features that will redefine our care delivery platform.
Become a key problem-solver by troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving critical issues, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for both our members and the care delivery platform.
Elevate our engineering culture by partnering with fellow engineers, championing best practices, and collectively pushing the boundaries of high-quality software development.
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Hit the Ground Running: Dive in and immediately contribute by coding and launching multiple key features with robust test coverage, directly enhancing our platform.
Elevate the Team: Become a catalyst for growth by actively sharing your expertise, collaborating through pair programming, and providing insightful feedback in code reviews to inspire and uplift your fellow engineers.
Drive Innovation: Identify and spearhead at least one significant process or product improvement, leaving your mark on how our engineering team operates and excels.
Must-Haves
Proven Experience (3.5+ years): You've been in the trenches, actively building and shipping web applications using React or similar modern frontend frameworks.
API Integration Expertise: You're comfortable and experienced working alongside backend engineers to seamlessly integrate REST or GraphQL APIs into frontend applications.
User-Centric & Design-Focused: You possess a keen eye for design, a genuine passion for software craftsmanship, and deep empathy for users. This means you can critically evaluate designs and thoughtfully consider their impact on the end-user experience, not just the underlying code.

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $145,491 - $187,900. Information about Virta’s benefits is on our Careers page at: https://www.virtahealth.com/careers.
As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA.
