Seismic continues to expand our product design team, and we're seeking a forward-thinking Director of Product Design who is passionate about solving complex problems in a highly customer-centric way. You will lead teams in the creation of world-class experiences, based on our customer needs and our business goals.

The Seismic Product Design team is a diverse, fun, hard-working, creative, and highly collaborative group. Each designer brings their unique perspective to help us realize our goal of solving users' needs by designing software that is driven by empathy and validated with data. What you will do:

  • Provide thought-leadership in design for developing delightful experiences by setting the design strategy and vision for your strategic area
  • Deliver a cohesive experience across different platform verticals
  • Coach and advocate for your team—inspiring and elevating them to their best potential by providing regular feedback and guidance
  • Contribute to shared initiatives and operational improvements that drive positive impact for the team at large
  • Oversee and manage design delivery for product features and new product development
  • Ensure organizational visibility into the work your team is doing and facilitate collaboration with the wider design team
  • Collaborate with product managers and technical leads by helping to frame problems, validate assumptions, identifying learning goals, and scoping product design work
  • Plan and facilitate workshops that teach and socialize design best practices, user research and experience strategy
  • Provide timely feedback, support, and guidance for your team on process and work
  • Minimize and/or remove roadblocks for individual contributors to enable them to do their best work
  • Identify opportunities for individual’s professional growth and development

What you will bring to the team:

Who you are:

  • 10+ years in product design, 5+ years of experience managing design teams with demonstrated success
  • A strong leader who can inspire and motivate designers to deliver their best work while also making it enjoyable
  • Expertise in design thinking, workshop creation, and facilitation
  • A skilled coach, mentor and teacher
  • Exceptional collaborator with product management, engineering, user research, and design teams
  • Driven to move quickly, make decisive decisions, and support teams to deliver world-class user experiences
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and visual communication, with the ability to influence and build consensus across all levels of the organization
  • Able to interact with many stakeholders and balance a multitude of inputs, including user and business needs, while planning and allocating resources effectively
  • Experience working with Figma and JIRA
  • Experience working in B2B technology is a plus
