The Role:

S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking candidates for our 12-month Apprenticeship program within our Upstream Solutions’ business line. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery and technical solution initiatives within the Global Data Delivery and Innovation team and will have the opportunity to work with a range of technologies and platforms, applying data analysis and data management skills to tackle unique and complex challenges.

The Team:

The Global Data Delivery and Innovation team is focused on developing and managing advanced data delivery solutions for the upstream oil and gas market. Operating primarily across our Canadian and US offices, joining our team offers the opportunity to thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment while expanding your technical expertise to better serve and delight our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, working closely with senior team members to understand project requirements and deliverables.

• Be a self-starter with the desire to learn new technologies, platforms, industry domain knowledge and business processes.

• Continue to enhance existing technical data delivery solutions through your ability to read, write, and maintain code.

• Identify and assist in opportunities to improve process efficiencies and troubleshoot data challenges and processes.

• Support technology design and re-design activities through clarification and documentation of business requirements, processes, business rules, and downstream and upstream impacts of proposed changes.

What we’re looking for:

• B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (2024 & 2025 graduates will be preferred).

• Willingness to work in North America shift timings (Eastern, Central, or Pacific Time Zones) i.e. 5:30 PM – 2:30 AM IST.

• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing ETL performance, and programming in languages including C#, SQL, and Python.

• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and Snowflake databases.

• Hands-on experience in database design and management including creation of tables, views, and stored procedures.

• Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting, including the ability to create basic interactive dashboards, generate insights from data, and perform fundamental data transformations.

• Strong understanding of data models and entity-relationship diagrams to support data-driven solutions.​

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative team environments, engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
