Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Perform account reconciliations and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement accounting controls and processes
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, mentoring them in best practices and professional development
Requirements
- MIP software experience or knowledge
- Non profit industry
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
