The story of EVERFI began in 2008 with a bold vision and a road trip. Co-founders Tom Davidson, Ray Martinez, and Jon Chapman set out on an RV journey across the United States to understand the educational challenges facing communities firsthand. They recognized a critical gap in the education system: while students were learning traditional subjects, they often lacked essential life skills such as financial literacy, health and wellness, and career readiness. This realization sparked the creation of EVERFI, a company dedicated to closing the education gap through scalable, digital learning solutions.

Over the years, EVERFI grew from a small startup in Washington, D.C., into a global leader in social impact education. By partnering with major corporations and financial institutions, the company developed a model that provides high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum to K-12 schools at no cost to the districts. Their platform expanded to cover a wide range of critical topics, including prescription drug safety, mental health, and workplace conduct. In 2022, the company was acquired by Blackbaud, a leading cloud software company for social good, further amplifying its reach. As of late 2024, EVERFI transitioned again, being sold to a private investment firm, continuing its mission to empower learners and drive social change through education.
