Summary
CHS has an opportunity in our centralized rail transportation group. We are looking for a rail logistics coordinator to join our high performing team. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, work well in a self-directed team environment and complete tasks with a high-level of detail. This individual will cover the second shift starting at 12pm noon until 10pm CST Monday-Thursday.
This is a fully remote opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Communicate daily with several departments internally as well as the various departments of partner railroads to gather data elements for creating railcar waybills
- Initiate shipment documentation (waybills) to railroads through various technology solutions
- Review data for deficiencies, resolve discrepancies and update system information
- Use efficient time management skills to ensure submission to the railroad meets timelines and achieves company goals
- Assist with diversions and rebill requests, as needed
- Track and trace shipments to ensure billing is active and moving correctly
- Work in a team environment that supports cross-functional learning and best practice sharing
- Participate in lean training programs and professional development opportunities
- Use new perspective and bring forward ideas for ways to improve current processes
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- 1+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics
- High School diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications
- Rail experience highly preferred.
- Billing experience or experience in GM400/AS400 software highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Accurate keyboarding, 10 key, and data entry
- Understanding of railroad operations, rules, and regulations
- Transportation billing experience or knowledge
