We are Bloomberg Philanthropies, and our mission is to ensure better, longer lives for the greatest number of people. Our approach is deeply rooted in the unique experience of our founder, Michael R. Bloomberg, as one of the world's most successful entrepreneurs and as the three-term mayor of New York City. This background shapes our distinctive, data-driven approach to philanthropy. We are committed to tackling the world's most pressing challenges and believe in the power of cities and strong leadership to drive solutions. Our work is concentrated on five key areas where we believe we can achieve the greatest good: the Arts, Education, the Environment, Government Innovation, and Public Health. We also undertake special Founder's Projects that address issues emerging from Mike's personal experiences.

The vast majority of profits from Bloomberg L.P., the global financial technology, data, and media company Mike founded in 1981, are dedicated to supporting our work. This allows us to take on big, complex problems and stick with them.
