Beyond100K

Beyond100K is a nonprofit organization and national movement dedicated to ending the STEM teacher shortage in America by 2043. Originally founded as 100Kin10 in 2011, the organization unites leading STEM organizations across industry, education, and government to co-develop and implement solutions that address the critical shortage of qualified STEM teachers, particularly in schools serving Black, Latinx, and Native American students.

The organization operates through a pioneering approach called "networked impact," bringing together over 200 partner organizations - including nonprofits, foundations, corporations, higher education institutions, school districts, and government agencies - to collectively prepare and retain excellent STEM educators. In their first decade, Beyond100K successfully prepared over 108,000 STEM teachers for American classrooms, surpassing the ambitious goal set by President Obama.

Today, Beyond100K has set a new audacious target: to prepare and retain 150,000 diverse STEM teachers by 2032, with a particular focus on equity and belonging. The organization centers its work on the belief that when teachers create classrooms of belonging, all students - regardless of background - can see themselves as future scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers. Through programs including the Annual Partner Summit, Teacher Forum, Project Teams, Implementation Grants, and CoLabs, Beyond100K fosters collaboration, shares knowledge, and drives innovation across the STEM education landscape.
