I currently prepare authorization request for Specialty Medications. I prep the case with the appropriate plan language such as Medically Necessary, Experimental and Unproven, fill out template and add the notes to ICUE before sending to appropriate nurse.

I have worked in the Census Data Unit collecting data on inpatient members, calling and faxing to gather census reports and updating member accounts. I have also served as a Patient Financial Counselor authorizing outpatient infusions, researching grants and drug companies for financial assistance, and posting payments to reduce patient responsibility.

I am very proficient in data entry, comfortable interacting daily with patients, physicians and clinical staff, and quick to learn new systems. I have worked in many applications such as IKnowMed, Athena, MBM, Cerner, OCM and ICUE, and I bring reliable multitasking, clear clinical communication, and a patient-focused work ethic.
