Niel Nortje

I am an experienced IT Infrastructure and Systems Engineer with 13+ years of experience in the Information Technology industry, including extensive experience within Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments. My career has progressed from IT Technician and Field Technician roles into Helpdesk, Infrastructure, and L2/L3 Engineering positions, giving me a broad technical background across systems administration, infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, and technical support.

My technical experience includes Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, AWS, VMware, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, Automox, PRTG, FortiGate, HP Aruba, endpoint security, backup and disaster recovery. I am also Cisco Meraki ECMS1 certified, further strengthening my networking and cloud-managed infrastructure knowledge.

I have extensive experience supporting multiple customer environments, handling technical escalations, troubleshooting complex issues, and working within SLA-driven MSP environments. I have contributed to major projects including a data centre migration and the deployment of a print management solution to more than 300 users.

Outside of IT, I am a hobbyist sound and recording engineer, with a strong interest in music, audio technology, recording, and the technical side of music production. This reflects my broader passion for technology, problem-solving, and learning new skills.

I am a dedicated team player, strong communicator, and practical problem solver who enjoys working under pressure, taking on technical challenges, and continuously expanding my knowledge.
