What I'm looking for

I am looking for a position to leverage my experience in the military to make an organization and it’s people better. I’m looking for a collaborative organization that wants to constantly improve and grow. I’m a big believer in training people to make them better, which will ultimately make the organization as a whole better in the long run.

My name is Kriss and I am looking for my next career. I have completed 24 years of military service serving in a number of positions throughout my time. I enjoy training and training management roles where I can see the progression of individuals from fresh in class to graduation. Through my time in the Army I was chosen to attend the United States Army Drill Sergeant School, was awarded for my work training and mentoring new service members, assigned as the human resources manager for the state’s recruiting organization, and eventually earned by Instructor Badge while working at the leadership schoolhouse.

Since I left the Army I have worked as a legal assistant, regional recruiter, and am finishing up a program management related contract with National Guard Headquarters. Again, making these positions better for the supported organization was a priority in my work.

Outside of work I have a family and enjoy physical fitness activities such as lifting weights and trail running.

Legal Assistant

I worked as a short term legal assistant for a small family law firm. My main tasks were handling phone calls with existing and prospective clients. Drafting legal documentation for submission to family court, opposing counsel, and clients. I also tracked documentation and billing using the Smokeball legal application.

Senior Manager (Personnel and Training)

I planned, managed, and executed training for brand new service members. I managed the human resources office for the recruiting organization. I spent some time as a recruiter. I closed my career as a Senior Instructor at the leadership schoolhouse. Each of these positions required change management skills due to constant restructuring of processes, course material, and expectations.
