Kazumi Fukaura
@kazumifukaura
Project Coordinator bridging technical and creative fields, with experience in procurement, production and project delivery.
What I'm looking for
My career combines engineering, product development and international project coordination across different industries. I began as a Graduate Engineer at Toyota Gosei in Japan, where I worked on advanced automotive development, coordinating testing, specifications and collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers. I also contributed to two US patents.
I later moved into art consultancy at Interculture Art in Tokyo, where I coordinated projects involving art, interior accessories and customised products for international hospitality projects. My responsibilities covered research, proposals, sourcing, procurement, supplier communication, production follow-up, quality inspections and international logistics. I worked with designers, artists, craftspeople and manufacturers to translate project requirements into tangible results, coordinating specifications, budgets, schedules and deliveries.
With a degree in Industrial Product Design from Aston University in the UK, I bring together technical understanding and a creative, practical approach to project delivery. I enjoy working at the intersection of people, products and processes, particularly where coordination across different teams, cultures and disciplines is essential. My experience has taught me to adapt to different project needs, communicate across functions and keep multiple moving parts aligned.
I am interested in opportunities in project coordination, procurement, supply chain, production, operations and product development, as well as other fields where my transferable skills could be useful. I am particularly drawn to international working environments where I can contribute my Japanese and English language skills, learn from different perspectives and help turn ideas into well-executed outcomes.
Outside my core professional experience, I am interested in art, design, material culture and the ways products and spaces shape people's experiences. I am naturally curious about how things are made, how different industries operate and how people work together to solve practical challenges.
