I have a long, rich work history spanning nearly 20 years. Most recently, I have worked in two cannabis dispensaries over two and a half years. This job requires strong attention to detail, as every transaction is required to follow strict state and federal laws. As a budtender, I not only worked in order fulfillment and inventory management, but also interacted with customers, usually hundreds in a day. I am excellent at matching customer energy and providing extremely personalized service. This job required licensing by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Prior to working in cannabis, I was a realtor for 6 years. As a realtor, I primarily worked with renters in the Chicagoland area, as well as several homebuyers and sellers. This job required inventory management, data entry, advertising, book keeping, time management, customer retention, creating & managing a client base, and following strict legal guidelines. My advertising included my own copywriting, photography, and video tours. In this position I managed my own calendar and schedule for appointments and meetings. I worked almost entirely remotely. I found that I strongly prefer remote work, especially independent work. I worked at two brokerages, both small local businesses. This job required licensing by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
I spent many years working in different forms of customer service, including food, retail, and banking. At a chaotic boutique that sit in a strip of rowdy bars I worked as the floor supervisor, assigning tasks and overseeing work in addition to doing the same floor and cashier duties. I was a barista at a handful of coffee shops, a movie theater, and even a nursing home. I tried my hand at many ways to serve and help.
Over the years I have done a great deal of community organizing. I ran a group at a community center that focused on discussion and community building. Following that I managed a very large buy/sell/trade family of groups on social media focused on specific community and mutual aid needs.
