What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a secondary English/Language Arts role where I can strengthen critical thinking, reading, and writing, collaborate with instructional leaders, and continue contributing as a department chair, liaison, or student support partner.

I am an experienced Secondary English teacher with 25 years in the secondary language arts classroom, focused on building student success in a positive, engaging learning environment. I strengthen critical thinking, reading, and writing skills so my students can grow with confidence and purpose.

In my current role, I teach 8th and 9th grade Honors Language Arts, and I also lead Speech and Debate as an elective. I’ve supported student leadership as Student Council and 9th Grade Council Sponsor, and I conduct the School Spelling Bee to build community and motivate language skills beyond the classroom.

I’ve also served in multiple leadership roles, including Language Arts Department Chair, Partners in Education Liaison, and Grade-level Chair. I bring a structured approach to collaboration and communication, using my instructional expertise to help teams align on student growth and classroom effectiveness.

Previously, I taught 7th and 8th grade Language Arts at Cranford Burns Middle School, conducting the School Spelling Bee and serving as Language Arts Department Chair. Across every assignment, I prioritize clear expectations, strong instructional writing, and standards-aligned learning with tools and platforms like i-Ready, Renaissance, Newsela, and Nearpod.
