I hold a BA in Psychology and an M.Ed with a specialization in Social-Emotional Learning (October 2024) and state certifications in ELA-R 7-12, ESL Supplemental, and Texas Teaching Certification. I have taught ELA at middle and high school levels since 2014, including ENG I Honors, ELA 8 Honors, and high school creative writing.
I consistently produced strong STAAR results with a 97% passing rate or higher and a 30% mastery rate or higher across school years. In 2022 I secured a $15,000 grant to create an SEL system, formed the SEL Committee to improve campus morale, sponsored the graduating cohort of 2022 for five years, and led extracurricular clubs and campus initiatives.
As HS Department Chair for English I lead professional development, curriculum planning, and advocacy for English colleagues while prioritizing student growth through differentiated instruction, assessment-aligned planning, and SEL-integrated classroom practices. Prior roles include 8th grade ELA teacher at Harmony School of Innovation, where I focused on TEKS-aligned instruction and STAAR preparation.
